The strong
foundation

Rebuild your movement foundations, so you can walk, train and live your life with confidence in your body.

A five month online programme for adults with recurring back and hip pain who want to understand their body, rebuild strength and feel more confident in movement.

Does this feel familiar?

What if you could trust your body again?

  • Another year of wondering whether you'll actually make that hiking trip.
  • Hesitating before signing up for an exercise class because you're not sure how your back or hips will react.
  • Going for a Sunday walk and already wondering whether it might be too long.
  • Going to the gym and second guessing which exercises are safe.

Picking something up from the floor and suddenly thinking:

“Am I doing this wrong?”

Planning a holiday, a long walk or a day out while quietly wondering whether your body will be able to keep up. And when something flares up again, it can feel like you're back at the beginning.

You want to move. You want to feel strong. You want to trust your body enough to get on with your life.

But instead, movement can start to feel like something you have to constantly think about.

  • What if I make it worse?
  • What if this exercise isn't right for me?
  • What if my body can't handle it?

If you've found yourself thinking these things, you're not alone.

And it doesn't mean your body is broken.

Your body is not broken.

After injury, recurring pain or years of adapting around discomfort, movement can stop feeling automatic.

You become more aware of every sensation. You start avoiding certain movements. You become careful. You start wondering what you should and shouldn't do.

And the more uncertain movement feels, the harder it can become to know how to move forward.

A different approach

The Strong Foundation gives you a different way to approach it.

Rather than focusing on one painful area or searching for one perfect exercise, you'll learn how the different parts of your body work together and how to gradually build your capacity from there.

Because your body is a system.

Your posture, breathing, core, hips, strength and movement all influence how your body handles everyday demands. When those foundations become stronger and more connected, movement can start to feel more predictable, more capable and more trustworthy.

You don't need more exercises.
You need to understand how to use them.

You may already have exercises. What can be harder is knowing what your body needs, why a particular movement might help, how to adapt something when it doesn't feel right, when you're ready to progress and how to take what you've learned beyond the exercise itself.

That's what The Strong Foundation is designed to teach.

  1. Notice
  2. Understand
  3. Adapt
  4. Build
  5. Trust

The goal isn't to give you another list of things to do. It's to help you become someone who understands what they're doing and why.

Five foundations. A stronger you.

Confidence grows when you have something solid to build from.

You don't have to have everything figured out before you begin. We start where you are. Then, step by step, you'll build awareness, movement options, support, strength and the ability to bring it all together.

The programme follows five progressive foundations.

Why I created The Strong Foundation

I believe everyone should have access to the foundations.

After years of working with people through physiotherapy and movement coaching, I noticed something again and again. People weren't necessarily lacking effort. They were lacking the foundations.

They had been given exercises, but didn't always understand how to create support from their core, how breathing influences movement, how to use their hips and glutes effectively, how strength should be built progressively or how all those pieces come together in everyday movement.

I found myself teaching the same fundamental principles repeatedly. And I realised: I believe everyone should have access to the foundations. Not only during a one to one session, but through a structured programme where they could learn, practise, repeat and build confidence over time.

Because getting stronger on a mat is only part of the story. The real question is:

Can you take that strength with you into your life?

Real people. Real progress.

What people have experienced working with Zoë

“Working with Zoë has expanded my life.”

Together with Zoë, I was able to overcome that. (…) Working with Zoë has not only made my body stronger, but, more importantly, has brought genuine joy back into training itself. Working with her has expanded my life.
VeraFormer elite athlete

“I can trust you completely.”

What I really appreciate about your approach is the attention to the limits of an aging and not so well trained body when trying to do things that could potentially cause harm. (…) As a result I can trust you completely and so we can achieve maximal results that gives a lot of satisfaction and motivation to go on.
Janis

“She always made me feel at ease.”

She immediately noticed things about my movement and muscles that were contributing to my problems. (…) She has a seemingly endless repertoire of workout options, she understands how the body works and adjusts as it learns.

Who it's for

Who is The Strong Foundation for?

The Strong Foundation is for adults who:

  • Experience recurring or persistent back and hip pain
  • Want to understand their body instead of constantly second guessing it
  • Want to return to walking, training, travelling and everyday activities
  • Are ready to learn, practise and build progressively
  • Have been medically assessed and don't require acute intervention or surgery

Is The Strong Foundation right for you?

The programme is designed for people who are ready to progressively rebuild their movement capacity.

It may not be appropriate if you currently need acute medical or physiotherapy intervention, have significant or progressive neurological symptoms, have recently had surgery and have not been cleared for progressive exercise, or need individual assessment to determine what is safe or appropriate for you.

It is also not designed for people looking for a quick fix or unlimited individual clinical support.

Not sure? Book a short call with me and we can talk through your situation and whether The Strong Foundation is an appropriate fit.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

Is this suitable if I've had an injury or surgery?

It can be, depending on your individual situation. The programme is designed for people with a history of injury and recurring pain, but it does not replace individual medical assessment.

If you have an acute problem, require medical intervention or aren't yet cleared for progressive exercise after surgery, this programme may not be the appropriate first step. If you're unsure, you can book a short call with Zoë.

What if I experience pain during the programme?

You'll learn a practical framework for understanding symptoms, modifying movement and deciding when to continue, adapt or seek individual assessment. You'll also learn to consider how symptoms respond later that day and the following day.

Do I need to be fit already?

No. The programme is designed around progressive capacity, not proving how fit you already are.

Is this physiotherapy?

No. The Strong Foundation is an educational movement and coaching programme. It does not replace individual physiotherapy or medical care.

How long do I have access?

Five months. The Strong Foundation is a five month programme, not lifetime access.

What's the difference between Group and VIP?

The Group programme gives you structured teaching, movement sessions, Q&A, community and accountability. VIP adds individual coaching, personalised progression, individual feedback and a monthly training plan.

Ready to take the next step?

You don't need another place to start over.

You've already spent enough time wondering what you should be doing. Now it's time to understand your body, build your capacity and move forward with more confidence.
